Casper Van Dien and Bill Moseley Join John A. Russo’s Spawn of the Living Dead from Producer Nuala Quinn-Barton

Los Angeles, CA — August 22nd 2025 — Horror fans have reason to celebrate: Spawn of the Living Dead, a terrifying new entry in the zombie genre, is officially in development with a powerhouse cast and creative team.

The film is written by John A. Russo, the legendary co-creator of George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead, widely regarded as the birth of the modern zombie film. Russo’s chilling new story promises to deliver a fresh and terrifying twist on the undead mythos.

Spawn of the Living Dead is being produced by Nuala Quinn-Barton and The Film Co-Operative, in partnership with Mania Entertainment, with Ani Kyd Wolf signed on to direct.

The film’s cast includes horror icon Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2), cult favorite Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes), action star Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers), and genre legend Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th, Hatchet).

“Working with John Russo on a new zombie film is a dream come true,” said producer Nuala Quinn-Barton. “With this cast and creative team, we’re building a project that honors the roots of the genre while delivering something modern and terrifying.”

The production is part of a two-picture horror deal that also includes Organism 46-B: The Unseen, another high-concept thriller in development with the same producing team.
